Well along with the amazing fall weather that we all love and cherish so much here in Buffalo, October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is a worldwide campaign that is aimed at helping raise awareness, and support research into this disease that affects an estimated 330,930 women per year.
Earlier this year, one of our incredible bridal stylists, Carol, was diagnosed with breast cancer. Carol has worked here at Victoria’s for almost 10 years, so this diagnosis hit extremely close to home for us. After months of treatments, we are thrilled to say that Carol is in remission.
After having breast cancer personally affect us in our shop, we have decided that for the month of October we are going PINK! We are going to be raising money all month long in different ways that we will be donating directly to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
We chose The Breast Cancer Research Foundation because we were really looking for somewhere that the money was going into research and future prevention of breast cancer. At the Breast Cancer Research Foundation 90% of donations go right into the research that they do.
For the entire month of October, we will be selling pink ribbons to our brides and their entourage for a $1 donation. And to give a little something to those amazing people who do their part in making a donation, they will be entered into a drawing for 3 amazing prizes.
We are also doing a giveaway on our Instagram that will run the month of October and for each follower that we get during the month we will match that number in donations.]
And lastly, we will be donating a portion of all of our proceeds at the end of this month to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.\
